There are countless photography resources out there and while it’s a wonderful thing to have so many resources at your fingertips, it can also be overwhelming. As I began my journey as a photographer, I spent hours upon hours searching the web for inspiration, information and education. From deciding what album company to use, to understanding how to use flash, there is a website out there to guide you. Below are some of our favorites. These are the sites that I valued most as I sifted through the talent and the experience in the world of photography.
Artifact Uprising – This is a new industry favorite! The owners went from sought after wedding photographers, to a innovative start up that uses recycled product to tell your story through photo books and a number of other unique products.
Mpix- An online recourse that provides high quality printing at an affordable price. Mpix offers prints, photo books, calendars and canvas in a range of sizes.
Photojojo- a fun and unique site for products for gift and gear. Whether you take photos with a DSLR or an iphone, this site offers everything from bike mounts to iphone cases. A great goto for gifts!
Click’n Moms – Ahhh… the joy I felt as a new mom when I discovered this photography resource that was created by other mom-tographers. These sites felt like home for me. I was so grateful to these woman/mom photographers for their openness into both photography and motherhood!
Shuttersisters- A community of women photographers who share their personal stories through writing and photography.
DPReview – This site is a life saver when you are comparing lens, flashes or camera bodies. This site is a great way to become familiar with the many features that factor into the decision making when purchasing new gear.
While I prefer natural light for my photography, there are times when a flash is necessary. Flash photography frightened me for some time, but this site helped me to understand the ins and outs of using flash.
Editing skills come with practice, but Scott’s blog was a great starting point for me as I began to explore the different settings that can be great tools while editing your photgraphy.
Easy Backup Systems
Photography for me is all about story telling. There are many, many bloggers out there that provide a wonderful travel opportunity through their story telling and photography. These are some of our favorites. We encourage you to get out there and find some that speak to you.
Just a really lovely place to get lost for awhile…

They say the best camera is the one you have one you… so recently I recommitted myself to iphonography. It can be refreshing to keep it simple. Challenge yourself to explore your surroundings … you will be amazed at what you come up with! Use #photocamp to share with our community!
