About Photo Camp Workshops and Classes
Join others who share a love of photography for workshops and classes filled with connection, creativity and learning. Through Photo Camp you will find your confidence with handling your digital camera, develop an eye for creative composition and master a few “professional” tricks. With an emphasis on taking better photographs of kids and people in general, we will help you learn to take photos you LOVE.
Which workshop or class is right for me?
We offer Photo Camp workshops and classes for photographers at all levels. Photo Camp 1 is perfect for anyone with a digital SLR camera or a point and shoot camera with full auto control. The curriculum will be focused on photographing children, but the knowledge will be useful for landscape, nature and other kinds of portrait photography. Our iphoneography class is perfect for the photographer who loves the spontaneous nature of the camera phone, but would like to improve technique or use the tool more creatively. Our Beyond Photo Camp classes are customized for the more advanced photographer.
What is covered in Photo Camp 1?
- Master the settings on your digital camera.
- Create unique compositions.
- Understand how to control your depth of field.
- Learn how to recognize and utilize different types of natural light.
- Gain techniques for shooting in low light situations.
- Find balance between being a Mom and a Photographer.
- Focus on telling a story.
This workshop is limited to 15 people with two instructors to allow for lots of one on one attention and individual questions. The friday evening session is intended to offer time to cover the basic elements of exposure, an introduction to lighting and a discussion about what makes a compelling photograph. We will make sure you are familiar with your camera and know how to control your most important settings. On Saturday morning, we begin to put the technical knowledge into practice with a hands-on lesson. We will study differences in light, play with composition and use our new technical know-how behind the lens. No previous photography experience is necessary for Photo Camp 1.
What classes can I take after Photo Camp 1?
Beyond Photo Camp 1, we are offering one on one sessions to fit your needs. We will customize a 3 hour session to include advanced lighting techniques, developing your personal style, editing and business development.
The cost for a 3 hour, one on one session is $200
